MHT CET

MHT CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is a state-level entrance examination conducted annually by Maharashtra's 'State Common Entrance Test Cell'. It is used for admission to undergraduate programs in Engineering (BE/BTech), Pharmacy (BPharm), Agriculture, and other professional courses at colleges across Maharashtra.

For admission to engineering programs, seats are allotted to candidates through the 'Centralised Admission Process' (CAP). Seat allotment is based on the candidate's MHT CET score, merit rank, category, preferences submitted during counselling, and seat availability. Starting from the 2026 admission cycle, the exam is being conducted twice, providing candidates with an additional opportunity to improve their scores.

MHT CET exam

For the first time in 2026, the MHT CET exam will be conducted in two sessions—April and May—giving students an additional opportunity to improve their performance. Authorities will consider the higher of the two scores for the final ranking and admission. Starting in 2026, the CET Cell has discontinued setting up exam centres outside Maharashtra to ensure better coordination and fairness in the examination process.
