MCC NEET UG 2024 Counseling Process and Steps

MCC NEET UG counseling is conducted online at official website mcc.nic.in. The NEET counseling process for AIQ seats consists of four rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round. The number of rounds will depend on the seat vacancy position. Last year, MCC had announced two additional rounds of counseling for admission to BDS and B.Sc Nursing courses. The allotment of seats for public and private medical colleges, deemed and central universities, ESIC and AFMS institutes as well as AIIMS and JIPMER has been completed.

Minimum seven stages are followed in MCC NEET counseling; A detailed description of each step is given in the following sections.

Step 1: Release of seat matrix

MCC will release the seat matrix for MBBS and BDS courses in participating universities offering 15 per cent All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

Step 2: Registration

Candidates must register for NEET 2024 counseling for each round, except the stray vacancy round. The registration process will be completely online and candidates will have to provide data such as contact details, NEET 2024 roll number, rank and score along with other mandatory details. Non-refundable registration fee and refundable security deposit also have to be paid.

Step 3: Filling out the options

In this segment, candidates have to select the colleges in which they want to take admission. To fill the choices, registered candidates must first login to the MCC website using their credentials. MCC recommends that individuals should make a preliminary list of preferred colleges based on available seat options before filling their choices online.

Step 4: Choice Locking

The next step is to lock the options they have entered. During the choice locking period, it is necessary to lock the choices to get the print of your submitted choices. MCC advises candidates to avoid waiting till the last minute for registration, lock their choices and take print out of the required documents.

Please review your submitted options before locking, as once you lock options they cannot be modified or changed, even if you have made a mistake. This may result in allotment of a seat that you never wanted. Please note that options once locked cannot be unlocked even from MCC.

Step 5: Process of verification and seat allotment by universities

Universities and colleges will verify the registration details and choices submitted by the candidates. Accordingly, they will release the seat allotment result and share it with MCC.

Step 6: Seat Allotment Result

MCC will release the seat allotment result for the candidates who had registered and submitted choices after due process. First, a provisional result will be released and candidates will be allowed to file objections if any and then, the final result or seat allotment list will be released. Based on their seat allotment, candidates can either get accepted or go for the institute reporting round. Or they can opt to upgrade seats. In the latter case, they will have to register for further rounds of counselling.

Step 7: Document Upload

After the release of the seat allotment list, candidates will have to upload the documents on the MCC NEET 2024 counseling website. The list of documents is mentioned on this page.

Step 8: Institute Reporting

In this last stage, candidates have to visit the institutes where they want to take their medical admission. This stage includes verification of hard copies of mandatory documents and payment of admission fee.

Candidates should note that the seat allotment result will be released directly in the last and final round, which is Stray Vacancy Round. Therefore, the process of registration or option filling will not be applicable in this round.
