Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee was established in 1847 and is the seventh IIT to be recognized as an Institute of National Importance. The Master of Business Administration (MBA) at IIT Roorkee is an 8-term, 99 credit, residential program spread over two academic years. The course structure is designed to provide knowledge of core management concepts and techniques in the first year, which is then upgraded to advanced knowledge and practice skills in the areas of specialization chosen by the students in the final year.

IIT Roorkee is based on the CAT score, followed by the performance of the candidates in the PI round. JEE Advanced-qualified IIT graduates who have secured a CGPA of 7 or above on a 10-point scale are not required to go through the initial shortlisting process. Instead, they are directly invited for the PI round.
