IIIT Sonepat

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Haryana (IIIT Haryana) is a premier institute established in 2014. The institute is located in Sonepat, Haryana. Currently, the IIIT, Sonepat, operates from the Shri Balwant Institute of Information Technology, GT Road, Sonepat. The institute was set up by the Ministry of Health Resource Development (MHRD), the Government of India, the Government of Haryana and the industry partners.

The IIIT Sonepat was conferred as an Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament in August 2017. The institute is set up under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. Earlier, the institute started its academic session from the NIT (National Institute of Technology), Kurukshetra campus. The NIT, Kurukshetra, was the mentor institute of IIIT Sonepat, Haryana.

There are two institutes with which the IIIT, Haryana has signed MoUs with the Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad and Delhi Technological University.

Indian Institute of Information Technology Sonepat: Admission Process 

The admission in B.Tech programs is based on JEE Mains (Joint Entrance Examination) scores, along with JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority)/CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board). The foreign students can take admission through DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad). The admission in PhD programs is based on the entrance exam – GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), followed by an interview round.

IIIT Sonepat Placements:

The placement is quite good. The highest package in the 2024 placement drive was INR 40 LPA. The teaching faculty is educated and experienced. The university campus is spread over 80 acres and has state-of-the-art infrastructure. The campus has all the basic amenities and modern facilities for students.
